Kerouac...I'm teaching him in the fall to incoming college freshmen(people = to be PC). Last semester I had my students read an excerpt of On the Road and most liked it. It's visceral, passionate, inspiring and relatable to that age group...and hopefully to other age groups. When I asked who had read this, largely all freshmen, they all said they hadn't. I was shocked! But this is the time when you're supposed to read this book when you're disgruntled, finding yourself, and discovering your passions. I can't wait to teach it!
