One of the best parts of living in Florida is traveling down to the keys. It's our answer to the northeast's martha's vineyard. I'm just kidding. I've never been there, but I imagine it being similar in the love New Yorkers feel for their Martha's. We made a pit stop at the Biltmore in Miami so my husband could do a little business.
...But then we finally made it to Key Largo. It's only an hour away from Miami and 5 hours from Tampa. One of our first stops was to pick up a key lime pie at Mrs. Mac's restaurants. Everyone, even the other restaurants, tell you to go there to get your key lime pie. At our resort they had key lime and avocado trees, so we got a handful of each to bring back.
When we got to the resort, we found out there was film crew for a Sci-Fi movie called "2 Headed Shark" that is set to release in January 2012. It stars Brooke Hogan and Carmen Electra, so you know it's going to be top notch!
And the rest of our trip was spent snorkeling, swimming, lying on the beach and grilling out. Doesn't get much better!
