Today is the first day of winter and also our family holiday party before we depart tomorrow morning for the Midwest. So we're going to celebrate with good food and drink.
As a present to my husband I got him a bottle of Absinthe that he's enjoyed in a drink a few times this year. The first time was in NYC at the Waldorf and then in Miami at the Biltmore. The last time was locally at Side Bern's, a great Tampa staple. You can purchase your own bottle, or thousands of different wines, here at Bern's Fine Wines & Spirits.
The Waldorf Cocktail
- 1/4 ounce Absinthe
- 2 ounces bourbon or rye
- 3/4 ounce sweet vermouth
- 2 dashes of Angostura bitters
